Astoria Park: Best Views, Pool and How to Visit
Guía rápida
Astoria Park is another one of those New York parks sitting right on the East River. This one is in Astoria, in Queens, New York's Greek neighborhood.
It's a great spot for Manhattan skyline views and for getting up close to the city's famous bridges, since it sits between the bases of the Triborough Bridge and the Hell Gate Bridge.
What to do in Astoria Park

Astoria Park is one of the largest green spaces in Queens, and walking along the river is a relaxing break while you explore New York's Greek neighborhood.
From the park you get sweeping views of Manhattan. Watching the city lights flicker on at sunset is a treat.
Standing at the base of the bridges that frame the park is impressive, and the hum of cars going back and forth between Manhattan and Queens never stops.

There are several sports facilities here that New Yorkers use constantly, especially in summer.
The oldest pool in New York
It's worth taking a look at the Astoria Pool public swimming pool, a beautiful piece of art deco design built back in 1936.
This is the biggest and oldest public pool in the city.
Nearby attractions

A good walk around Astoria and its neighboring areas should include Socrates Sculpture Park and the Isamu Noguchi Museum, dedicated to the famous Japanese American sculptor.
A little farther out you'll find the Museum of the Moving Image and the lovely Gantry Plaza State Park in Long Island City.
You can also take the chance to explore Roosevelt Island and head back to Manhattan on the Tram, New York's only aerial cable car.
